Thanks to everyone who turned out Thursday night to show their support -- and to those who couldn't make it but contributed anyway -- and to our friends throughout the McHenry County community who are showing their support in thousands of little ways every single day.

You're making a difference, each and every one of you. We're now much further toward our goal than many would have thought possible.

We're on the verge of breaking out, and it's all thanks to you. As I looked around the room Thursday night, I saw Democrats, Republicans and Independents in attendance. And they were all there for the same reason. To break free from the heavy hand of incumbency for incumbency's sake, the tight little circle of our self-declared leaders.

They -- Sheriff Nygren especially included -- are growing uneasy. They expected me to go on the ballot and go to sleep until November. But that's not happening and they're not happy!

And they haven't seen anything yet.

So to all of my loyal supporters, to those who are starting to look in my direction, and especially to those who are tired of unchallenged "bossism" in McHenry County, stay tuned! Some of the knots these folks have tied over the years are starting to unravel.

The best is yet to come.
